Surrounded by the serene beauty of the French countryside, you’ll cultivate a state of flow where words effortlessly pour onto the page, leading to unprecedented levels of productivity, you’ll gain valuable insights and perspective to propel your writing to new heights and you’ll emerge from the retreat feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to share your story with the world.
We all have a story to tell.
As writers, we are an introspective, often self-critical lot, who would like to make sense of life and if possible, help others to make sense of their lives too, with our writing.
During this unique Walking and Writing retreat, you will have the irresistible opportunity to write, without interruptions and distractions, amongst idyllic surroundings, in this unspoilt and forgotten part of the deepest rural south of France.

The retreat centre is located between Eauze and Nogaro, 3km from a lively village, on the edge of an ancient forest. Lush meadows surround a 200+-year-old authentic and sympathetically restored French farmhouse.
Further afield, you'll find vineyards, sunflower fields, more woods, and more sunflower fields, medieval villages, bottomless lakes, orchards, and of course, the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
Whether strolling through historic streets, enjoying the natural beauty, or savoring the local flavors, Eauze; Nogaro, and its surrounding region offer a multifaceted experience that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the cultural and historical tapestry of southwestern France.
Accommodation
La Maison Meraki (a house made with love) huddles in the middle of a sunny clearing in the heart of a great and ancient forest, like a little old lady gathering her shawl around her bony shoulders. She has been here for at least 200 years, from her elevated position she looks out over the treetops to the mighty Pyrenées mountains. Who knows, maybe D’Artagnan himself has ventured over her threshold, the chateau where he was born is only a few kilometres away. Yes, this is indeed Gascony, land not only of milk and honey but also of divine wines, persillade, garbure, foie gras, cèpes, duck confit…all less than two hour’s drive southeast of Bordeaux.
